Sapri
Sapri is
in the Southern province of Salerno,
between Campania and Basilicata. The town
is very picturesque: when you leave in Lagonegro the Salerno-Reggio
Calabria highway to reach Sapri, you will sea a beautiful landscape made
of hills covered by woods and then the creek of Gulf
of Policastro (dominated by the town).
Sapri is loved by tourists that come here every here. It has been a blue
flag of FEE (Foundation for Environmental
Education) s ince 1995 thanks to its sea and the facilities
for tourists.
The seaside is beautiful: during the summer tourists and
inhabitants spend there their nights. The name Sapri is famous
among students because of the expedition by Carlo
Pisacane (25th June – 1st July 1857). This is an important episode
in Italian Risorgimento: it made Sapri famous in Italy but
it was a very unfortunate event.

eighteenth-century convent 'La Locanda delle Donne Monache'

occupied by the Visitandine nuns, set in the heart of
Maratea's ancient centre and framed by the roofs
of the old medieval village, 'La Locanda delle Donne
Monache' is the ideal accommodation in Maratea for guests
